SLC Turf Trade is Back!
Trade up to turfgrass that uses 40% less water while staying green all summer.
This public-private partnership is designed to conserve water and preserve the functional beauty and natural brilliance of living turfgrass. While standard Salt Lake City landscapes use 29–35 inches of water per season, TWCA Qualified turf requires only ~18 inches.
Successfully converting to TWCA Qualified turf through this pilot project alone will save up to 3.7 million gallons of water. Your participation demonstrates what is possible for a sustainable Utah.
Why It Matters: By the Numbers
| Turf Type | Water Required (Per Season) |
|---|---|
| Typical SLC Landscape | 29 – 35 Inches |
| Standard Kentucky Bluegrass | 24 – 25 Inches |
| TWCA Qualified Turf | 18 Inches |
