TWCA Qualification
TWCA uses peer review of objective data collected through multi-year, multi-site trialing to qualify the most drought tolerant cultivars of each turfgrass species.
Qualification in TWCA is time limited and progressive; meaning each cultivar must either re-qualify against a new, higher standard of drought tolerance or lose its use of the seal. In order for a turf grass consumer product, blend, or mixture to be qualified to use the TWCA label, a minimum of 70% of the varieties included in that product blend or mixture must be TWCA qualified. |

Bermudagrass |
A robust warm season turf; Bermudagrass thrives in the south and through the transition zone. Because of its aggressive nature Bermudagrass is used as a playing surface on sport fields and golf courses throughout its range. Beware, though, this is considered an invasive in several states so check with your local extension agent if you're unsure.

Tall Fescuealphabetically
|
Tall Fescue is a hardy and adaptable species of cool season turf that is well known for drought tolerance. Two contributing factors here are an incredibly deep rooting structure and a high endophyte content; the first gives the plant access to a deep profile of moisture in the soil while the second contributes to great pest resistance. A versatile, durable turf, with good drought tolerance; Tall Fescues are found through the majority of the cool season turf range and provide an alternative to warm season turf in many areas.
