TWCA ByLaws
TWCA is an industry independent, non-profit association that oversees the voluntary TWCA Qualification Program. Its purpose is to improve the environment and the standard of life through water conservation of home lawns, sports venues, golf courses and parks. The program goal is to identify and recognize consumer products that provide clear water conservation benefits through advances in genetic breeding and selection of live goods products. The by-laws explain in detail the scope and function of TWCA.

TWCA Program Protocol
The protocol for acceptance into the TWCA Program has been designed by select turf grass scientists from throughout the United States using rain out shelters to control drought stresses. These scientists use screening methods that exceed industry standards, determine the standards for each species, and determine the planting and evaluation criteria using digital image analysis. Management practices using multiple data sets from multiple sites or multiple years insure the integrity of the program.

TWCA Certification
In order for a turf grass consumer product, blend or mixture to be qualified to use the TWCA label, a minimum of 60% of the varieties included in that product blend or mixture must be TWCA qualified. For any variety to qualify, it must pass multiple screenings of scientifically repeatable drought stresses, and score at or near the top of any statistical analysis base.

Fresh water supplies are severely limited around the world, especially in developed or developing countries, where urban sprawl, industrial growth, and agricultural modernization places greater demands on existing water supplies. It has been estimated that the demand for water has increased over three times in the past 50 years, and will continue to increase in the decades ahead. From 2000 to 2025, the pressures from population growth alone will account for a 22.43% decrease in the amount of water available per person. In addition, the weather has also taken a toll on our water resources. Our water supply and water quality continues to be jeopardized by .....
